Painting is, for me, a space where technique and instinct have equal weight — where a canvas can begin with a clear intention and end somewhere entirely unexpected. That tension is what I want to share.

Over five days in Tuscany we will work on portraiture as a gateway to something broader: emotional expression, the poetry of colour, and finding a way of working that is genuinely your own. The emphasis is on process and experimentation, not result.

Art Escape Italy has hosted artists including Ruprecht von Kaufmann, Tania Rivilis, Henrik Uldalen and Denis Sarazin. I will be teaching there in April 2026.
